This is the first passive tax-saving scheme launched by a fund house after market regulator Sebi allowed them. The fund will invest in stocks in the same proportion as the Nifty 50 index and will aim to mimic its returns. As it is a tax-saving fund, all investments in this scheme up to ₹1.5 lakh will give a deduction under Section 80C of the Income Tax Act. The units of this scheme will be locked in for three years from the date of allotment. The minimum amount of investment is ₹500 and the new fund offer (NFO) closes on December 21.
