As long as the stock is priced above the 200-day SMA on the daily time frame, it is generally considered to be an overall uptrend.

In the NSE list of stocks, four stocks with a market cap of over Rs 1000 crore are witnessing Golden Crossovers, according to stockedge.com's technical scan data. Golden Cross is an important technical indicator of bullishness. It occurs when the short-term moving average crosses over the major long-term moving average on the upside. These stocks' 50-day simple moving averages (SMA) crossed their 200-day SMAs on October 20.

The European Central Bank and Bank of Canada also hold policy meetings and, while no hikes are expected, investors will be sensitive to guidance on futures moves.

The report comes less than three months before Taiwan votes in presidential and parliamentary elections.

Stocks that were in focus included names like Tanla Platforms, which rose 4%, YES Bank, which gained 1.76%, and Tata Communications, whose shares declined 3.82% on Friday.

“Cipla is coming out on a weekly frame and has surpassed its 50 DEMA with a spurt in volumes. Traders can buy the stock for a target of Rs 1275 in the next 2-3 weeks, and a stop loss can be placed below Rs 1185,” Shivangi Sarda, Analyst, Derivatives and Technical Research, Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd, said.

In the recent MPC meeting, member Ashima Goyal said a sudden rise in Indian household debt could be a concern, as per the minutes of the meeting released on Friday. "Prudential tightening, such as raising LTV ratios or risk weights, would be preferable to raising policy rates ... After the firm lending-based NPAs, most banks are trying to increase retail loans. These are secured or based on cash or salary flows. But it will help make sure lending continues to be risk-based and internal assessments are robust," Goyal said.

The Mumbai-based lender had posted a net profit of Rs 7,558 crore in the year-ago period. The total income in the second quarter of the current fiscal rose to Rs 40,697 crore from Rs 31,088 crore in the same period a year ago, ICICI Bank said in a regulatory filing.
