Shares of Century Textiles and Industries have surged over 20% in two sessions after the Aditya Birla Group company informed exchanges about a clutch of investors visiting its flagship real estate project 'Birla Niyaara' on Thursday.

HAL stock hit a new 52-week high of Rs 3,078.8 in today's trade after brokerage UBS initiated coverage on the stock with Buy rating and target price of Rs 3,600.

The specialty chemical stock hit a 52-week high of Rs 2792 on 3rd January 2024. It has risen more than 4% in a week, and over 13% in the last 3 months.

The NHPC stock has been getting significant investor attention and trading with significantly high volumes. On the NSE, over 2.25 crore shares were trading around 9:35 am. The traded value of the stock on the NSE stood at Rs 166 crore. On the BSE, the counter saw a spurt in volumes by 1.31 times.

The public offer of Kay Cee Energy and Infra was subscribed 959 times at close. The company received bids for over 200 crore shares against a partly 29.5 lakh shares on offer. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite closed lower on Thursday, extending their losing streak that kicked off 2024, although the Dow Jones Industrial eked out a win on the back of financial stocks and strong jobs data.

Asian stocks wobbled on Friday, keeping global equities on track to snap a nine-week winning streak, while the dollar was poised for its strongest weekly advance since mid-July as bets on aggressive Federal Reserve rate cuts were rolled back.

Stocks that were in focus include names like Bajaj Auto, which fell 0.81%, Sobha, which jumped 15.8%, and Adani Ports, whose shares jumped 2.5% on Thursday.

“The buoyancy in the commodities prices combined with the upbeat chart structure is pointing towards a steady rise ahead in Tata Steel. Traders can buy for a target of Rs 175 in the next 1-2 months,” says Ajit Mishra, SVP - Technical Research, Religare Broking Ltd.

Shares of Bengaluru-based Sobha jumped 15.82% to an all-time high closing of Rs 1,296.60 after brokerage Motilal Oswal Financial set a price target of Rs 1,400 on the stock while rating it as one of the top picks for 2024.

The apex court this week has given an interim stay on a significant Delhi High Court ruling in early 2023 that a tax residency certificate (TRC) is sufficient for a foreign investor's claim to pay zero or lower tax under treaties between India and overseas jurisdiction like Mauritius, Singapore and The Netherlands.
